Express Entry Process
The Federal Skilled Worker Program operates within the Express Entry system, which is an online application management system. Here’s an overview of the process
- Create an Express Entry Profile: Create an online profile on the official Canadian government website and provide information about your skills, work experience, education, language proficiency, and other relevant details.
- Obtain Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score: Your profile will be assigned a CRS score based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and additional points for factors like Canadian education or work experience, spouse/common-law partner’s credentials, etc
- Receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA): The Canadian government regularly conducts draws from the Express Entry pool, inviting candidates with the highest CRS scores to apply for permanent residency. If you receive an ITA, you will have a limited time to submit a complete application.
- Submit Permanent Residency Application: Prepare and submit your complete application for permanent residency, including all the required supporting documents. This includes police certificates, medical examination results, educational credentials, language test results, and proof of funds.
- Wait for Application Processing: After submitting your application, it will be reviewed by the Canadian immigration authorities. The processing time can vary, but generally, the government aims to process applications within six months.
